Boggles the mind to think how much damage ordinary crime does through downstream consequences. Many many criminal acts must have similar or greater magnitudes of consequences like this. Brilliant article.
I’m glad to picked up that point Ben. If this relatively minor incident had such wide consequences, what are the knock-on effects of more serious crimes? We need to be mindful that there may be more victims that are immediately apparent.
